Winter Sock Drive

King Me, the new Male Enrichment Program at King's Fork, held a Winter Sock Drive in partnership with CAPS, Coalition Against Poverty in Suffolk. CAPS offers many different opportunities to help the homeless in the City of Suffolk.  In particular, the Night Stay Program partners with churches and allows the homeless a place to sleep for the night.  King Me presented over 150 pair of socks to the representative on Friday December 22, 2018.  The representative expressed her gratitude for the donation. She explained that warm dry socks is a hot commodity among individuals without a place to live.  Having dry socks can help prevent some sickness, blisters, and sores as the individuals walk the streets during the day.  We are proud that King Me's first act of kindness was to give back to the community.
