Spring 2021 SOL Testing FAQ

  Do students have to test in school for their End of Course SOLs?

  • Yes, students will only be allowed to take their SOLs in school.  High school students cannot take their SOLs at home.

What happens if my student does not test during the spring?

  • If your student does not test during the spring, your student will be required to test during a future test administration to meet their graduation requirements.

     

    How are students going to test during COVID-19?

  • We will follow CDC guidelines.Students and staff must wear masks while in the building and remain 6 feet apart while in the building.

     

    What are the test dates for testing?

  • English Reading/Earth Science - May 14 at 8:30AM
    Biology/Chemistry - May 21 at 8:30AM
    History - May 28 at 8:30AM
    Math - June 4 at 8:30AM


    How do students know if they are supposed to participate in SOL testing this spring?

  • SOL teachers are informing the students if they need to test this spring.

     

    How do students register for testing/transportation?

  • Students should indicate their intent to come into the building for SOL testing and their need for transportation by completing the registration form at this link: https://forms.gle/HD84CKjVBwih11zS9 no later than Wednesday, May 5th.

     

    How long will testing last and are students required to stay at school when they have finished testing?

  • Students have until 3pm each day to finish their SOL.Students who are driving or who are being picked up will be dismissed to leave as soon as they have finished testing.Buses will pick up any student who registers for transportation at 11:30AM or 3:00PM (for students who need extended time testing).

     

    What do students need to bring with them for testing?

  • A fully charged Chromebook
  • Wear a mask
  • Water bottle (students are not allowed to drink from water fountains)

     

    Where do students enter the building?

  • Students should park in the student parking lot (a decal is not required).Students who are driving or being dropped off should enter through Door #19, on the right-hand side of the building, near the football field.

     

    Why do students have to take another math or science SOL if they passed one in middle school?
  • To meet high school federal (ESSA) testing requirements, all students must take one math, one science, and one English Reading SOL while in high school.
