Dr. Ron M. Leigh, Principal

Dr. Leigh2Dr. Ron M. Leigh is honored to be the principal of King’s Fork High School.  Now in his 17th year with Suffolk Public Schools, Dr. Leigh taught in middle school for four years in North Carolina (1992-1996), served as Assistant Principal at Northeastern High School in Elizabeth City, NC for three years (1996-1999), served as Assistant Principal at Eastern Elementary School in Greenville, NC for one year, served as Principal at Robertson Elementary school for two years (2000-2002), served as Principal at Mack Benn, Jr. Elementary School for six years (2000-2008), served as Principal at Hillpoint Elementary School for seven years (2008-2015) and is now in his second year as a Bulldog (2015-present).

Dr. Leigh is a 1987 graduate of Currituck County High School.  He received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History from Elizabeth City State University in 1991, a Master’s degree in Administration and Supervision from East Carolina University in 1992, Advanced Studies in Administration in 1999 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a Doctorate of Education in 2012 from Virginia Tech.  Dr. Leigh has also served as a head basketball coach, assistant football coach and interim athletic director during his 20 plus years in education.

Dr. Leigh resides in North Carolina and is a member of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc, Phi Delta Kappa.  He also serves as the Vice-President of the Southeastern District Athletic Conference and is an avid hunter and fisherman.  Dr. Leigh loves being a Bulldog and spending time with his two children.
