Course Title: Design, Multimedia, and Web Technologies

Course Description: Students will develop proficiency in using desktop publishing software to create a variety of printed and electronic publications. Students will incorporate journalistic principles in design and layout of publications. Students will work with hardware and software to develop web sites and multimedia presentations.
Course Pre-requisite: Keyboarding Applications , Business Computers and Communications, Computer Information Systems, or Word Processing
Course Objectives: Students will be able to: · Evaluate software programs that may be used for electronic publication · Identify an appropriate audience, purpose, requirements, and production schedule for projects · Compose new articles and feature stories · Create multi-page and multi-column documents · Incorporate original/imported text, graphics, tables, and charts from a variety of software applications · Plan, create, and deliver a multimedia presentation/project

Grading Scale
A 94-100 B 86-93 C 78-85 D 70-77 F 69- Below I Incomplete, work must be made up
Grading Percentages: Tests 20% Production, Lab work Presentations, Group Work 65% Quizzes 15%
**Note: Credit for any homework given will be incorporated into daily production.
Tutoring, Make-up assignments, and Lab work I will be available for students in the computer lab Monday – Friday from 2:15 – 2:45. Only students that schedule lab time for these days ahead of time will be permitted to use the after school lab in my classroom.
Make-up work Policy: Upon returning to school from an absence, it is the responsibility of the student(excused or unexcused absence) to complete any work missed during the absence. The student will have 5 school days to complete all work that was missed during the absence.
