UTI American Dream Scholarship Competition #27

The BigSun Organization will be awarding $500 scholarships to “deserving” student athletes. Senior athletes should apply. Essays on “”why you should win this scholarship” must be submitted on-line by June 20, 2008.
NASA Langley Aerospace Research Summer Scholars Program #75

Suffolk Chapter of the Norfolk State University Alumni Scholarship #122
Graduating seniors who have been accepted into Norfolk State University should apply for this $500 scholarship opportunity. The application process includes an essay on “Why I should be the recipient of the 2008 Suffolk Chapter Norfolk State University Alumni Scholarship.” Completed applications are due by June 2, 2008.
“CALL Me Mr. Program” #134
This is a national initiative to increase the pool of teachers from more diverse backgrounds. Several black colleges are seeking to train black males to be teachers and will offer up to four years of college free of charge for individuals who are accepted into the program. 2008 United Veterans Alliance Foundation Scholarships #138
Seven $1,000 scholarships will be awarded. Applicants must be able to verify that they have contributed 100 hours of their time toward community service to support Veterans or Veteran Families within the last 24 months. Completed applications are due by May 27, 2008.
Beatrice Plummer Scholarship #140
This renewable $500 scholarship will be awarded to a graduating high school senior or college student who attends a two or four year college. Applicants should have at least a 2.5 GPA. The application process includes a 500 or more word essay on your goals for the future. Completed application packets are due by May 28, 2008.
