Graduation Requirements
High School students must take Standards of Learning tests. Beginning with the 9th grade class of 1998-99, students must complete 22 standard units of credit to receive a Standard Diploma and 24 standard units of credit to receive an Advanced Studies Diploma. A standard unit of credit is based on 140 clock hours of instruction.

In addition, beginning with the 9th grade class of 1998-99, students must earn verified credits as well as standard units of credit. A verified credit is awarded when, in addition to successfully meeting course requirements, the student passes SOL tests for certain courses in high school.
