Coach Whitfield attended Southampton High School. While at Southampton, Coach Whitfield played four years on the volleyball and softball teams. During her junior year, she was named to the All-District Volleyball Honorable Mention team. Coach Whitfield earned the Volleyball Defensive Player of the Year her senior year.

Coach Whitfield continued her education at the University of Maryland at Eastern Shore on a volleyball scholarship. During her freshman year, Coach Whitfield earned the Most Valuable Player Award.

Coach Whitfield teaches Special Education at King’s Fork High School. She coaches Varsity Girls' Volleyball and JV Softball.
