Coach Stephenson graduated from Nansemond River High School where she played JV Field Hockey and Tennis. Coach Stephenson attended Barton College in Wilson, North Caroline.  She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training.

Coach Stephenson has experience working as an Athletic Trainer in secondary education and college settings. After graduating from college, she worked as an Athletic trainer at both the high and middle school settings as well as in a clinic.

Coach Stephenson is a Health and Physical Education teacher at John Yeates Middle School and Forest Glen Middle School.
