Coach Murphy earned his Bachelor's degree in Sports Management from Old Dominion University. 

Before coming to King's Fork, Coach Murphy coached at Portsmouth Christian and was an Assistant Coach at Franklin High School for the Boys' Varsity Basketball team for 2 years.  Coach Murphy is entering his third season at King's Fork. As part of the coaching staff, Murphy has assisted the Lady Bulldogs to a record of 48-6. He also was an Assistant Baseball Coach while at Portsmouth Christian.

Coach Murphy is a Special Education teacher at King's Fork High.  He is currently working on his Masters in Special Education at Cambridge University.
