Coach Varney coached at John Yeates for three years as an JV football coach and three years as a Varsity Soccer coach.  During that time, he won a district title in soccer.  Coach Varney’s coaching record in soccer was 36-14-1.

At Nansemond River, Coach Varney coached special teams in football for eight years.  He also coached JV Baseball for six years.  His record was 63-17.

Coach Varney teaches Marketing at King's Fork High School and supervises the "Dog Pound," the school's store.
