Health Occupations Students of America

The Hands of HOSA Mold the Health of Tomorrow

HOSA is a national student organization endorsed by the U.S. Department of Education and the Health Science Technology Education Division of ACTE.  HOSA's two-fold mission is to promote career opportunities in the health care industry and to enhance the delivery of quality health care to all people.

HOSA's goal is to encourage all health occupations instructors and students to join and be actively involved in the HSTE-HOSA Partnership. The mission of HOSA is to enhance the delivery of compassionate, quality health care by providing opportunities for knowledge, skill and leadership development of all health science technology education students, therefore, helping students to meet the needs of the health care community.

Students must obtain a 2.0 GPA or higher and be affliated with the Health Occupations classes.

Students in HOSA are encouraged to make realistic goals, be flexible for inevitable career goals, manage basic survival skills,  build self-esteem, develop enthusiasm and maintain motivation, communicate more effectively, interact with health care and community professionals, and develop workplace readiness.

The HOSA colors are blue (loyalty to the health care), white (purity of purpose) and maroon (compassion of HOSA members).
