Distributive Education Clubs of America - DECA

The DECA club is a co-curricular club that involves opportunities for students to test themselves against other students in the Marketing area of study. The students can compete in District Leadership Conference, State Leadership Conference, and the National Career Development Conference. The students can compete in these contests by creating manuals and projects. The contests give the students the opportunity to show what they have learned from their jobs through role-playing situations. The club uses fundraising as a means to pay district, state, and national dues.

The DECA club at KFHS has sponsored a dance and is planning an Employee/Employer breakfast for May. In addition, the club is responsible for the school store which is open by appointment due to the change in the School Board regarding selling candy or any other food items.

The only requirement to be in the club is to be in a Marketing class. In order to participate in district, state, or national competitions, students have to pay dues.
